Our vision is to create a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it.
About the Vaccine Education Initiative:
In September of 2020, the CDC selected the Autism Society to receive funds to address vaccine hesitancy in the disability community. With these funds, the Autism Society created the Vaccine Education Initiative (VEI) to establish a tailored public health model to promote vaccine education, confidence, and access. The VEI served as a pilot program which has successfully engaged members of the Autism community and healthcare providers. The focus of the VEI pilot has been COVID-19 vaccination, but the need in our community extends far beyond the pandemic. To meet these needs, the Autism Society is dedicated to expanding the Vaccine Education Initiative across the country. This grant allows the Autism Society to further empower vaccine confidence, education, and access across the country.
