During the course of the pandemic, I learned how to program. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done and at the end of my Bootcamp, I felt so proud of myself. I've spent 12+ years in front-facing jobs and have used those to hone my people skills. I love astrophotography, photojournalism, social justice, animals, longboarding/snowboarding/skiing, hiking, camping/backpacking, and hockey! I'm also a huge fan of stinky cheeses and fine wines.

Ideal Workplace Values

My ideal workplace would be somewhere that is making a real difference in the world for everyone, not just the upper class. I believe that if we do something we truly believe in, we won't work a day in our life. Things I am passionate about would be, social justice, green energy, healthcare expansion, and mental healthcare.

Skills and Strengths

My Neuro-exceptional talent

I have a strong eye for detail, I'm able to detect patterns and point them out where others miss them. I have ADHD so often that I will become totally enveloped in a project for countless hours on end, hyper-focusing on it to the point that I tune everything else out. This allows me to enter flow states easily and make progress at a quick pace. I also tend to be a big-picture thinker that is capable of finding creative solutions that are considered outside-of-the-box thinking. Working in restaurants I learned how to communicate and develop interpersonal relationships, as well as be able to read body language. I have a hyper-like focus and attention to detail when it comes to interactions with other people that I use to create enjoyable experiences.

Environments I'm comfortable with

Loud noises
Working with animals
Driving a vehicle
Working with food
Interaction with the public
Heavy lifting
Bright or blinking lights
Outdoors or places with strong smells
Standing for long periods
Variable temperatures
Uniforms (hard hat, hair net, etc.)

I struggle in environments where there are lots of distractions. (People talking to me, loud noises, etc.) I've found what works best for me is one of two things, being able to close the door to the room I'm in and having that be known as "Focus time" to limit interruptions, or the same thing if I have my headphones on.
