About Me

Caring and Compassionate

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am a graduate of Skidmore College with a Psychology and History Major, and a Minor in Computer Science. I am very proud of these accomplishments, alongside my acceptance into Psi Chi and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies, and my placement the Dean's honors list. Currently, I am a graduate student at the UCONN School of Social Work, where I aim to receive an MSW degree. I consider myself to be a resourceful, loyal worker, with a desire to give to back to my community. From the various experiences I have had growing up, I have gained a passion to help others when they have stressful tasks ahead of them, and thus I would love to participate in research that can potentially accomplish that. I am focused and driven, and excel at working in groups. I learn quickly about whatever task is at hand when I can learn from others while I work alongside them. In terms of my career interests, while I am happy to work in the field of psychology in a counseling capacity, I am also interested in applying my knowledge in other areas, especially if I combine these with my own personal interests. For instance, I am greatly interested in video game design, so helping to design a game using psychology, or helping a game adapt to the needs of neurodivergent players, would be another career interest of mine. I can also pay very close attention to detail and memorize numerous facts and details, so something in sales or marketing (such as with cars, another interest of mine) would also be another potential avenue.

Ideal Workplace Values

I want to make sure that employers put the phsyicial and mental health of their workers first. I want to make sure that managers are patient in answering questions or offering their support if employees require help or guidance.

My Badges

Skills and Strengths

My Neuro-exceptional talent

Able to maintain a large reservoir of information on a particular topic and explain it to others, willing to put aside what I am doing to help others, checking up on people to make sure they are ok, being polite, work well solo and in a team of other friendly/responsible people, etc.

Environments I'm comfortable with

Loud noises
Working with animals
Driving a vehicle
Working with food
Interaction with the public
Heavy lifting
Bright or blinking lights
Outdoors or places with strong smells
Standing for long periods
Variable temperatures
Uniforms (hard hat, hair net, etc.)

I work better with precise directions where I can ask clarify questions. Occasionally, I can be startled or momentarily confused when under stress. Taking these two factors together means that I can occasionally doubt my own abilities or competence, even when it matches or exceeds the task at hand. It may also mean that I ask more questions than I need to, or I have trouble when starting an unfamiliar task, but I am trying to improve in that area as well. I am working on my leadership skills, but for the moment, my ability to manage confrontation or problem behaviors is weaker than I would like it to be.
