Long Term Employee

I am passionate about learning! As an educator, I loved creating engaging lessons, seeing my students grow and cheering them on along the way. While educating our youth, I discovered new passions (ones that I really excelled at): building relationships with people, identifying areas of strength and improvement, and then making detailed plans to provide the resources and support necessary for others to reach their goals. Due to physical limitations, I am transitioning out of a classroom environment and making a career change. I have strong interpersonal and communications skills which allow for exceptional teamwork and community engagement. I enjoy supporting and encouraging others to grow, learn, and thrive. I am detail oriented, love to plan and make data-informed decisions. As a life-long learner myself, I am always eager to attend professional development trainings as well as grow and excel professionally. Not only am I passionate about sharing knowledge with others and growing professionally, I am equally as passionate with consuming knowledge for personal growth! Currently, I’m juggling my free time between writing the rough draft of my debut novel, completing coding coursework toward certification in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python (the most fun I’ve had in months!), listening to audiobooks (currently reading The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin), and filling my sketchbooks with any and all 2-D mediums.

Ideal Workplace Values

Inclusive environment: a company that is on a mission to be a diverse and inclusive workplace. A place that has a long track record of empathy, professionalism, and taking care of their employees. I want to be valued as an employee and have my contributions appreciated.

Worked for 4 years, 10 months from Aug 2017 to May 2022

Educator - Taylor ISD

As an Educator, I wore a lot of different hats and honed my time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills. I had three main roles: planning, data analysis, and training/student advocacy. Planning: Long term planning (1-5 years), short term planning (quarterly, weekly, daily), create pacing calendars, write detailed lesson plans, design resources, facilitate meetings, collaborate across departments, set goals and objectives, write IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and PLAAFPs (Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance), monitor student progress and adjust plans accordingly, write and design curriculum, design presentations with timers and visual accommodations, organize physical and digital resources and data, manage technology platforms (Google Classroom, gmail, 8+ learning platforms, TEAMS, Eduphoria etc), communicate plans and timelines to students, educators, and community members, manage a virtual and in-person classroom. Data analysis: Collect data for student and professional growth (formal and informal assessments, observations, feedback, work samples), create spreadsheets, interpret charts and graphs, pull data from several sources to get a larger picture of student needs, design and facilitate intervention and enrichment plans, build data informed trainings and district wide initiatives, write data-informed IEPs. Training: Create researched and data-based lessons aligned with state standards, organize and maintain an inclusive environment, design and manage high-engagement projects, create engaging presentations, build strong interpersonal relationships with a profile of 75+, assess and plan for various learning styles, intentionally plan resources and curriculum that are culturally diverse, inclusive, and accessible, ask open-ended questions, scaffold questions for student success, advocate for and seek resources and support for student needs.
