Skills and Strengths

My Neuro-exceptional talent

I'm very detailed, but I can also see the big picture. I work very well under pressure, and I am a resourceful problem solver. I can learn any software tool pretty quickly, and I know how to translate complex technical concepts into simple English.

Working since Jun 2017

Linux Systems Engineer - Owl Cyber Defense Solutions

I started as a Technical Writer with the goal of joining the Product Support Group as a Linux Systems Engineer. For the first three years, I remained a tech writer, while doing many technical side projects. Since it is a small company, I was able to pitch in by championing the expanded use of Jira and Confluence through the organization. I worked the product while I wrote the manuals. I found and reported bugs. I mapped out new user interfaces and eventually contributed to building one for a new product. To support my goal of becoming a Linux Engineer, I trained for and passed the exam to become a Red Hat Certified System Administrator. I started on the Product Support team in June of 2020. As part of this team, I solve complex customer issues, work on PoCs, train users and colleagues, test new releases of software and hardware, and travel extensively to provide on-site product integration/installation to our government and critical infrastructure customers. I enjoy using my diverse talents to integrate humans and computers.
